Lazy Leo Studios is run by me, Ana, a creatively passionate one-woman show exploring the art of crochet through slow-made accessories and apparel.

Because crochet is a slow fashion craft, it allows for an immense amount of love and care to be put into every stitch. So don’t be fooled by “lazy,” it’s just a reminder that every step of my creative process takes time and dedicated energy.

Over the last 5 years, you might notice that my practice has shifted into a more “sustainable era,” or one that keeps the lifecycle of a product in mind. You can see this mindset in my current works as I’ve turned to up-cycling secondhand and vintage crochet afghans into beautiful one-of-a-kind pieces. This is a process I have completely fallen in love with because it allows me to never make the same piece exactly twice. But if you scroll back far enough, you will find that my interest in crochet started with an obsession for checkerboard pattern and stiff cotton yarn; however, my affinity for color play and pattern design has always shone through.

Working with secondhand materials is both an honor and a labor of love, and Lazy Leo Studios is a place for me to create in a way that makes me feel good about my impact on this earth – a sentiment I want everyone to share when wearing my designs.

And yes, my astrological sign is Leo :)
